Haiku is one of my favorite forms of poetry and I can get lost in the way so few words can evoke every imaginable emotion in the simplest of everyday things.
I enjoyed the simplicity of events and insights the author used to share the world from his point of view, and the use of some nice imagery, sights, sounds, but I found the emotional impact to be lacking. Passive verbs were overused, but I think those could be revised to form beautiful poems--there is potential in the author's work.

It took me a few moments to get the hang of modern haikus instead of the mental space of older Japanese ones. These were able to paint some interesting pictures for not a lot of word space. Plus, I got to enjoy a nice little book on poetry.
