Born during World War II in Transylvania, the author undertook many directions in his life, starting as a refugee in Germany. Historically speaking, war had dwindled the family in the past. As a survivor, the author firstly went through technical and then formal higher education, with the intention of, with his family, going out into the world to learn real-life issues. As an ‘Aussie’, living Down-Under since 1981, the author envisages a return to grassroots from whence we should act with common sense in life. It would be a ‘mission impossible’ to make a summary here. More could be found in Journey of a Lifetime.

Most of Martins works are also available in the German Language.

We are all on a journey. In life we are given a humble start and travel then individually. ‘Journey of a Lifetime, Volume One‘ recounts the bumpy beginnings of my own journey, that of an ordinary citizen: World War II, refuge, childhood in after-war-Germany, exploring first: Europe, Asia Minor, North-Africa, where I met other people in their own environment and learnt also from them.

Comedy

We all live in a glasshouse of our own, knowing very little about the other glasshouses around us. Let’s therefore get out of our glasshouses for a change and learn more about life in other professions and recognize that we are all more or less comedians. The comedies here, ten very different real-life situations, do not only take this into account but also invite us to look at life with a smile because those who smile live happier and longer.

A search for simplicity in life is not something new. Religions, traditions, and education have all dabbled in the subject without really updating their views with new insights gained from daily experiences. Find out in this book how the author, Martin Kari, updates simplicity within real-life situations by showing the positive pathways in life. The author reminds us also that, when stuck in difficulties, we wake up and long for simplicity. Therefore, it is instrumental not to wait too long for such a wake-up call and not simply ignore a well-intended advice. Simplicity, after all, is the key to everything in a successful life.

Kalevi Mattila, Professor Emeritus of Astronomy, Sipoo, Finland.
"The Simple Life" can be regarded an entry-ticket into practical, contemporary philosophy as we all experience it.Not in code-written pohilosophy, but common sense approach of real down to earth stories help open the eyes of readers. Also some well known as well as author's own fables facilitate an understanding. Neither specialised knowledge nor an interpreter is needed.

Poetry

“The Poet shows human power” (Original : Des Menschen Kraft im Dichter offenbart”) (Faust – Wolfgang v. Goethe) ‘Here rhyme is not asked to make an exclusive appearance’. ……”poems of Martin Kari are prose poems, written very much from the heart. They are not too much concerned with form and line ending, in other words rhyme only. Truth is here a concern. The reader is not confronted with difficult intellect, rather being invited to share with the poet natural views where the outcome is positive. (FAWQ - Editor, Caroline Glen)

Children's Fiction

This book is for children of almost every age, including the young at heart. One of the challenges of writing a childrens book is how to convey what we want to say to a younger generation without sounding preachy or condescending. Children should not only get enjoyment from this book but also learn about real life. Such learning cannot start early enough. It can protect us from many mistakes.

Here is a view through a small window into a world, which connects us all together, from early childhood on. Own illustrations and text from the author enrich only this work of art. It also shows, what childhood is all about, reminding us that we don't lose the simplicity from where life can start happily." Arja Kari , wife of the author.

"I love this book so much that I take it each night into my bed and fall asleep with it, secured under my pillow." - Abhay, ten year old boy from the Gold Coast Hinterland of Queensland/Australia.
