My first name is Michelle, but I decided to write under the pen name of MC D’Alton. D’ Alton was the last name of my maternal great grandfather.

I am cook, cleaner, taxi driver and all around go-to person in my household. I make sure to spend at least an hour each day writing. I am currently attempting to get a degree in writing.

Born in South Africa, my husband and I packed up and moved to Australia in 2010.

Besides being blessed with triplet boys, moving to a new country was both the greatest adventure, and adjustment of our lives. Raising three children of the same age left no room for my calling as a nurse and so I decided to concentrate on my second love – writing.

My passion for writing about the fantastical and love swept, started at an early age.

I lose myself in daydreams and what if’s whenever life spares a free minute.

I am a huge romantic but also love drama, mystery, intrigue and the unknown.

My Goal — to create worlds where people can escape to for a few precious moments, places where magic is the order of the day, and love is served on a silver platter.

I hope you enjoy what is on offer.

Romance, Romantic Suspense

A romantic Suspense taking place in current day Sydney, Australia.

A dance lesson and a white lie bring two lonely souls from different worlds together.

Derek Durrant, mathematical genius and respected actuary, has a heart of gold but his tragic childhood has left him shy, socially awkward and prisoner to his world of numbers and certainty.

Passionately beautiful Tango instructor, Alessandra Aquilar, lives in the shadows of her dark and dangerous past. Fear makes her keep everyone at bay.

When they meet through Tango, neither can deny the strong emotions the dance brings to life. But can Tango empower Derek to find the courage to confess his love to Alessandra? And can Alessandra return the love and kindness the enigmatic Derek shows her, or will threats from her past return to destroy her future happiness?

The book is attention grabbing from the first line to the last. Numbers and Tango has descriptions that are short and straight to the point. This makes the book such a delight to read. It's packed with romance, excitement, drama and some stunning metaphors. The characters are fun and well developed with a plot that makes the book such a page turner. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read that is both intricate and flowing.

Chivalry is alive in this warm and sensual debut romance. A delicious blend of dance and danger, the characters are spicy as the food and hot as the dance. Yum. Just yum.

My own love of Tango brought me to this book, but your way of blending a beautiful dance, passion coming to life and souls finding their way together kept me wanting more and more. What a in depth journey into the heart of Tango! Great job!

MC Dalton is a lyrical writer. Her words flow like milk and honey. I always enjoy reading her works. This is an intriguing story with a well-drawn heroine facing an unusual but believable situation. Her descriptions of Australia took me right there. Once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed all four stories and the poem. None of the four are long, so they make the perfect coffee-break read in our hectic world. Each story is different, they all explore love and/or passion in different ways.

4 wonderful short stories that can be read anywhere, anytime. MC draws you into the story using all of your senses and doesn't let go until the very last word. My favorite story was The Darkest Tango. But read for yourself and pick your favorite, if you can.

Passion is the word that best describes MC Dalton’s writing and these bite-sized stories carry a full dose. MC Dalton uses the rhythms of jazz and tango and word itself to form a narrative tension that begs to be read aloud to absorb its full measure. These stories borrow from Greek and South African mythologies to celebrate new life and transcendent love. Others explore the power of love to overcome and even to devour. These stories touch on passion for life in all the moments of a woman’s love.
