I’m a younger old person who lives in Brisbane with my cat. Don’t mistake me as a Cat Woman - I used to be a Dog Woman most of my life.

I have written fictional (2015) and now have my new non-fiction memoir published. It’s a long story, right from my family to me to the brain injury I had.

I sat a Master of Creative Writing recently at Macquarie University, and that has helped!

I’m now retired and live in a quiet retirement village in Kallangur.

Pride…
Australia’s population, prior to the 18th century, was Indigenous people, for more than 40,000 years.
The first ship of convicts from United Kingdom came in 1788.
The soldiers and prisoners built the beginning of a city – Sydney.
Then the emigrants came.

Families landed in Australia by ship and some set up in chosen cities throughout this
huge country. Some moved on to little New Zealand. Relatives fought and died in WW1 or WW2. All information was researched, but not all details could be found.

Hamilton, New Zealand, became the most populated inland city, and many of the
buildings or properties in that area now have a heritage list.

… and Paradigm
Childhood and adult life is different for any person.
Moving to Brisbane in Australia in 2006 gave a new thought of life.
In 2013 the writer was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. During surgery she had
a stroke, with aphasia. Included is information for readers to find out about brain
aneurysms, stroke and aphasia…

Perhaps your own life could have been similar….

Wellington is a wonderful place to live. Growing up in the 60s and 70s can be idyllic. You live with people you love, you work, and you know the whole city. Until you are raped by a group, led by the man at his engagement to your best friend.

People will believe in someone who means something to them. Toni tried to tell her best friend about the rape, but how could he have done it? She was turned against by her friends and couldn’t face her future.

Toni left to live in Brisbane, Australia, finding a different, wonderful city which she felt good in. She worked, she lived, and she dated a very nice new guy.

But soon her past would catch up with her. Her previous best friend, who had turned against her in Wellington, ended up in Brisbane, with a broken arm, and came to stay with Toni. Her husband, who had broken her arm - and who had led the rape of Toni - would also turn up looking for his wife. And Toni.

Her life was back into her own history and she had to get past it.
