I'm an English teacher with a Master's in Education and a lifetime of experience with horses (hence, they appear in most of my novels). I've written for horse magazines for decades and also wrote and reported for Horse Talk TV. I write novels that make you feel and empower you and they are sold through Amazon. The children's series, The Outback Riders, is about a group of resilient teens who live out Winton way, and their experiences with the Min Min lights and everything else that life throws at them. Muted is a huge read about an Australian horseman who doesn't speak but his words change the world - it's a mix of suspense, romance, medical mystery, and horse opera. Zo covers a group of 59 year old famous Australians who grew up in Geelong - they return to Australia to help a childhood friend who imagines she was in love with Lorenzo de Medici 500 years ago. And there are three or for more novels due out in 2019 and 2020 - and many more beyond. I love writing!

He's a Hollywood star who would rather be at home on his Montana ranch. She's an Australian writer who would rather be on her Queensland farm. He can't stand journalists. She detests everything about Hollywood. From the moment they meet, the sparks fly and the verbal sparring begins. It's only when friends throw them together that they realise they have more in common than they first thought, and romance has a chance to blossom. There are obstacles to overcome - his young children don't want a replacement mother and she is haunted by a childhood tragedy.

Very good, slow burning enemies to lovers romance
Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2020
I have a soft spot for enemies to lovers romances, especially when they give the couple plenty of time to build an actual relationship.
This book starts off with an awesome instantly explosive situation where the two meet and loathe each other right off the bat. They are each the other's worst nemesis. He hates journalists, she hates movie stars. Sparks fly, not in a good way, but in a grab popcorn and watch as these two fire the other up another notch in the angry department.
There's also a bit of spirituality with her Aboriginal heritage and his Blackfoot heritage. Neither are full blooded, but they have that older relative who puts some sense into them and helps them find their way. This aspect wasn't overdone. It was more subtle and seemed respectful of the cultures.
He also has kids who have their own hate to love mini story arc with the leading lady. It was fun watching her juggle all of this while coming out of her protective shell.
Overall, this was a romance but it had a lot more depth to it - more like litfic - that I enjoyed. I'd definitely recommend reading it if you like cowboys, the Australian outback, and strong women.

Excellent writing. Realistic depiction of dealing with pain and grief combined with different backgrounds surrounded by love.

An interesting story with so much descriptive writing about Australia as well as the wildness of the Rockies. A struggle by the author to explain how giving up our past allows us to fully enjoy the present.

I've enjoyed it as I have enjoyed all the books I've read from Leanne so far! Was a I'm not a big fan of romance novels but on occasion a good one will come along. This one was so much more then a romantic novel. It was about life and dealing with the good and the bad and letting go. Her stories always have an amazing intelligent depth to them. Highly recommend reading any of her books.

Australian horseman Lane Dimity stopped speaking on his eighth birthday. New York lawyer Karen Lawford stopped feeling sometime during her battle for power in her father's business empire. Between them lies the fate of over a thousand geneetically unique horses in the laboratories of her family's pharmaceutical company.
Sometimes, you don't know how much you love someone until you lose them.

You don't need to be a horse lover to enjoy this book, it has everything. Set mainly in Kentucky with travels to beautifully described locations, Muted delivers full characters with depth who will become your friends. The plot is superbly developed with unexpected twists that will keep you turning the pages.
Highly recommend this book. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see what else Ms Owens has to offer. Enjoy!

I love your writing! I also gave "Zo" 5 stars. That was my first review ever and this is my second. Your stories are utterly captivating. These are books I will read again and again. I read about a book a day. It takes some amazing storytelling to impress me to remember titles and authors. You, Ms. Owens are now part of that short list!

Four famous 59 year old Australians rush to help their childhood friend, Ally. When they were growing up in Geelong during the 60s and 70s, Ally saved their lives and lifted them up into greatness. Now, it's their turn to save her. She tells them of being in love with Lorenzo de Medici in Florence five hundred years earlier.

What a book!
I can't really tell you what this book is about, as that would ruin the story. Just know that it will touch your heart, make you think, and feel. It's sometimes sad, sometimes horribly heartbreaking, and a truly uplifting story of lifelong friendships, and how they can change, and sometimes save our lives.

I wish it was made into a well directed movie..I was lost in the most wonderful story I have read in the last 10 years. It is a story encompassing the lives of five friends, a friendship enduring harsh life, a friendship knowing no boundaries, and one which causes people to drop everything and rally to the side of those who are hurting... It is a book that would make you think, reflect on life and want to re-read it over and over again...

I rarely rate a book with five stars but would have given
this book more if it had been possible. This story goes beyond a beautiful love story. It stirs and sifts through important issues of friendship, aging, cruelty and abuse, mental illness, reality and successes. I laughed and cried reading some passages. This is a book I will read again. Open your mind and enjoy a well written story that explores the unknown power of love. Enjoy!
